I happened upon this lovely Victorian home in the town center of Kent, CT on a recent spring afternoon.  My husband and I had just dropped our daughter off at a crew regatta at Lake Waramaug State Park, and we decided to have a quick bite in town before returning to watch her event. If you haven’t been to Kent before (in our states Quiet Corner, as they call it!) it is well worth the drive. Go on a beautiful spring or fall day and enjoy the windy roads and classic New England scenery. Kent has so much to offer, including Bull’s Bridge covered bridge, Kent Falls State Park and a charming town center with old homes, restaurants, art galleries, bookstores, antique stores and clothing boutiques. All the ingredients for a day of exploring and enjoyment! You can find the information you need to explore Kent and the other Quiet Corner towns on The Secret Corner of North West Connecticut.

This home also happens to be for sale! It was built in 1898 and is listed for $595,000 with three floors, 3600 sq ft, a charming carriage house, wine cellar, original floors and woodwork and much more. It is zoned residential/commercial. Take a peek at the inside on Historic Homes in CT, a site that features antique homes for sale in the state. My favorite detail on this home is the little window on the upper left. What’s yours?

    1. Isn’t the porch fantastic though?! Definitely the best part in terms of living in the house! Apologies for my very delayed response – I have been off the blogosphere due to work and life in general, but thanks so much for your comment!
